A student at Community College of Philadelphia arrested last May after he allegedly drew a gun on another student during a classroom argument waived his right to a preliminary hearing Thursday in Philadelphia Municipal Court.

The move by Ryan Fitch, 24, of Torresdale, means his case will proceed directly to trial in Common Pleas Court.

Fitch was arrested May 28 after the incident, which forced the evacuation and closing of the Community College's Franklintown campus and lockdowns of the nearby Julia R. Masterman and Benjamin Franklin High Schools.
