A Montgomery County man who threatened to commit suicide barricaded himself inside his house for four hours early Wednesday before surrendering to police.

The incident occurred in the unit block of Abbeyview Avenue in the Willow Grove section of Upper Moreland Township, according to police.
The unidentified man indicated he wanted an armed confrontation with police, prompting a response from a SWAT team and negotiators.
About 8 a.m. the man surrendered and was transported to the Montgomery County Emergency Services facility, in West Norriton Township, for evaluation. No criminal charges had been filed as of late Wednesday, according to police.
Traffic was diverted during the incident.
