PHILADELPHIA native and TV star Bill Cosby will be in town Tuesday for a special anniversary honoring African-American veterans, whose recognition on monuments and statues falls behind their white counterparts.

The Veterans Day ceremony at 20th Street and Ben Franklin Parkway will recognize the 20th anniversary of the relocation of the All Wars Memorial to Colored Soldiers and Sailors from Fairmount Park to Logan Square - its intended home for more than 60 years.

The day's event will be hosted by Mayor Nutter, state Sen. Vincent Hughes and the Committee to Restore & Relocate the All Wars Memorial to Colored Soldiers and Sailors.

The public is invited to attend at 11 a.m. for remarks from the mayor, Hughes, poet Sonia Sanchez, historian Charles Blockson, Lt. Gen. Thomas P. Bostick, chief of engineers and commanding general of the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, and other top military officials. Cosby will be the keynote speaker.
