A 22-year-old man has been charged with murder in a 2013 shooting in Kensington.

Jonathan DeJesus of Kensington was arrested Monday in connection with the Oct. 29, 2013, slaying of Stephen Cassidy, who was found mortally wounded on the 100 block of East Indiana Street at 4:13 a.m., police said. He had been shot in the abdomen, groin, and back, police said, and was pronounced dead at Temple University Hospital at 6:34.

The case stalled until earlier this year, when a witness told homicide detectives about seeing DeJesus drive up Indiana, roll down his window, and shoot Cassidy, police said.

DeJesus was arraigned Tuesday and denied bail. According to court records, DeJesus has been incarcerated since March on an unrelated drug charge. He pleaded guilty to that charge four days before he was charged with murder, and was sentenced to 31/2 to seven years in prison.
