Aggressive drivers targeted

ABINGTON With travel ramping up for Labor Day and children heading back to school, the Abington and Lower Moreland Police Departments say they are conducting a week of aggressive-driving enforcement.

Officers will target Route 611, Route 63, and County Line Road now through Sept. 1 to crack down on aggressive and distracted drivers.

That could include speeding, tailgating, running red lights, using a cellphone while driving, or violating the School Bus Stopping Law, which requires drivers on both sides of the street or intersection to stop 10 feet away when a bus's red lights are flashing.
