Montco leadership program starts in September

NORRISTOWN Norristown will launch an eight-week course next month to build a cadre of community leaders in the Montgomery County seat.

The Citizens Leadership Academy will be held on Thursday evenings beginning Sept. 25, and be taught by municipal staff, Norristown spokeswoman Gabriela Prete said. It is free for residents and business owners in the municipality.

Lessons will use three themes - education, leadership development and communication dynamics - to explore how government departments and processes work, Prete said.

"Our Citizens Leadership Academy is an important component of the municipality's efforts to transform its neighborhoods," municipal administrator Crandall O. Jones said.
