Man shot with a crossbow in Wildwood motel

The alleged shooter drove off. An accomplice was charged with hindering apprehension and obstruction.

TWO WILDWOOD men went medieval on another guy at a Jersey Shore resort yesterday, shooting an arrow into his leg with a crossbow, authorities said.

According to the Cape May County Prosecutor's Office, police in Wildwood responded to a report of a "man bleeding" at Gilmore Motel at 10:34 a.m. They found Angel Adorno Serrano, 35, with an arrow "impaled" through his left upper leg.

During the investigation, police determined that Jonathan Moya, 31, was the alleged shooter and had fled. An alleged accomplice, Carlos Casanova-Rosaria, 29, was charged with hindering apprehension and obstruction, and was taken to the Cape May County Correctional Center and held in lieu of $12,500 cash bail.

Authorities said Moya faces attempted-murder and weapons charges. He was last seen driving away in a small, white pickup truck with a temporary New Jersey registration.

NBC40 in Atlantic City reported that the victim had recently moved into the motel, on Schellenger Avenue near New Jersey Avenue. The station, citing Wildwood officials, said he was flown to a nearby hospital but did not provide a condition.
