One lane on Route 100 this week

UWCHLAN A stretch of northbound Route 100 will go down to one lane from Tuesday through Friday for median construction as part of the highway's expansion project, PennDot announced.

Between Worthington Drive and Route 113, crews are removing old median rail posts, which will close a lane from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. for most of the week as part of a $17.4 million widening.

The project will expand Route 100 from two lanes to three lanes in each direction from Shoen Road to south of Route 113 and southbound from south of Route 113 to Swedesford Road. The project is scheduled to be completed in February 2016.

The state is funding 20 percent of the project; 80 percent is federally funded. Drivers can check road conditions using www.511PA.com or the site's mobile app and Twitter feeds. They can also call 5-1-1.
