An unidentified man threatened to jump from the Walt Whitman Bridge Wednesday evening, forcing partial lane closures as police responded and snarling traffic for three hours.

The incident was reported about 5:30 p.m. said Delaware River Port Authority spokeswoman Fran O'Brien. At 8:30 p.m. the bridge resumed normal operations, with all lanes open and no injuries reported, she said. - Michael Matza
