One dead after shooting in Chester

An overnight shooting in the City of Chester has left one man dead and two women with gunshot wounds, according to police.

Just after midnight on Friday, police were called to 7th and Lloyd Streets for shots fired. The victims were taken to Crozer-Chester Medical Center for treatment.

Verlondon Gary, 32, died from his injuries. Shahidah Brice, 21, was shot in the stomach, Christina Gardner, 22, was shot in the right ankle, according to the district attorneys office.

Calls to Police Commissioner Joseph Bail were not returned.
