A native of Philadelphia, Mrs. Adamczyk graduated with Notre Dame Academy (Rittenhouse Square)'s Class of 1952 and the University of Pennsylvania's Class of 1956.

She worked in advertising for 15 years, writing copy for an agency in Philadelphia. Later, she became an executive assistant to the owner of Cullen Construction Co., with offices in Bryn Mawr and Wayne. She retired in the 1990s.

Growing up, Mrs. Adamczyk told her family, she enjoyed summers in Ocean City, N.J. Later, she shared her love of the Shore with friends and family on annual vacations to Avalon.

In person, said her son, Henry R. Jr., his mother was very engaging. She delighted in working a room at social gatherings and catching up on what people were doing.

"When the MS attacked the muscles in her face and made it difficult to speak," he said, "that was very hard on her."

In addition to her son, she is survived by her husband of 49 years, Henry R.; three grandchildren; a sister; a nephew; and nieces.

A Funeral Mass will be said at noon Wednesday, June 4, at St. Katharine of Sienna Church, 104 S. Aberdeen Ave., Wayne. A viewing will start after 11 a.m. at the church. Interment will follow at SS. Peter and Paul Cemetery, Marple Township.
