MOUNT LAUREL Grants from the New Jersey Department of Labor will pay for job training for up to 75 unemployed Burlington County residents, especially veterans and individuals currently receiving services through the county's Workforce Investment Board, Burlington County College announced.

The free training will focus on three areas: emergency dispatching, electronic repair, and advanced manufacturing.

Dispatch training will be conducted by county Emergency Services. Electronic repair technician training will come with a guaranteed job interview with Radwell International of Lumberton, a major provider of industrial electrical and electronic control equipment. Advanced manufacturing skills will be taught at the college with hands-on training at Champion Fasteners, a manufacturer of stud welding fasteners, in partnership with the New Jersey Tool and Manufacturing Association.

A forum will be held June 17 to discuss the training. Register for the forum at www.bcc.edu/corporatecollege.

"This is a powerful alliance of the state, county and private sector that will make a difference in the lives of our residents by enhancing job skills needed to reenter the workforce," county college Interim President David Spang said in a statement. - Michael Boren
