Boy, 12, shoots himself fatally

A 12-year-old boy in Philadelphia's Frankford section died Saturday morning from a self-inflicted gunshot wound to the head, police said.

Authorities withheld the child's name and did not say how he obtained the gun.

The incident occurred on the 4600 block of Tackawanna Street. Police responded just before 8 a.m., and the boy was pronounced dead at the scene. - Chris Palmer
