A woman was struck by an Amtrak train and fatally injured late Monday in Marcus Hook, Delaware County, after a fight with her boyfriend at a nearby bar, police said.

Laura Dehart, 50, of Folcroft, died at Crozer-Chester Medical Center. The 54-year-old man, from Glen Mills, received superficial stab wounds in the bar incident and was admitted to the hospital for alcohol intoxication, police said.

Police received a call at 6:18 p.m. reporting that a person had been hit by a train near SEPTA's Marcus Hook station, said John Ireland, the borough's police chief.

Just before the incident, the woman and man, both intoxicated, had been involved in a quarrel at the Star Hotel, at 1018 Market St., said Ireland.

Police are continuing their investigation, Ireland said.

The incident delayed both Amtrak and SEPTA Regional Rail service, authorities said.
