Cops: Boy accidentally drowns in Mayfair home

His family told investigators that he may have had a seizure.

A 10-YEAR-OLD boy died yesterday morning after drowning in a bathtub in his Mayfair home, police said.

The youth's grandmother found him facedown inside the bathroom of the home, on Magee Avenue near Hawthorne Street, at 11:19 a.m., said Officer Tanya Little, a police spokeswoman. Emergency medical personnel took him to St. Christopher's Hospital for Children, where he was pronounced dead about an hour later.

Lt. John Stanford said investigators are ruling the tragedy a "sudden death" free from any suspicious circumstances.

The family told police that the boy suffered from an unspecified medical condition and might have suffered a seizure yesterday, Stanford said.
