MONTGOMERY COUNTY 'Week of the Young Child' to be recognized by commissioners NORRISTOWN Montgomery County commissioners are expected to pass a proclamation at their meeting Thursday in recognition of the "Week of the Young Child," which runs from Sunday to April 12.

NORRISTOWN Montgomery County commissioners are expected to pass a proclamation at their meeting Thursday in recognition of the "Week of the Young Child," which runs from Sunday to April 12.

Also at the meeting, parents and teachers from Crayon Kids Preschool in Norristown, Limerick Township Police Chief William J. Albany, and representatives from Pre-K for Pa. will tell commissioners about "an advocacy effort to ensure that all children in Pennsylvania have access to high-quality early education," according to Pre-K for Pa.

That group is a statewide coalition of more than 100 organizations. Its strategic focus is on supporting candidates for Pennsylvania governor and the legislature "who believe that investing in our children is the right choice and an urgent necessity," the coalition said on its website.
