Philly cop locked up in Cheltenham Township
Officer Robbi Huff was charged with assaulting her boyfriend on Thursday, police said.
A PHILADELPHIA police officer who's already in hot water with the department was arrested earlier this week by Cheltenham Township police.
Robbi Huff, 35, was charged with simple assault, disorderly conduct, harassment and resisting arrest after a fight with her boyfriend on Thursday, said Cheltenham Township Police Chief John Norris.
Police were called to Arboretum Road near Rock Creek Drive for a reported domestic dispute shortly before 3 p.m. Huff was allegedly "out of control," Norris said, and her boyfriend had "visible injuries to his face."
She was released Thursday night on $10,000 unsecured bail, and is scheduled to face a preliminary hearing in Montgomery County District Court on March 24, Norris said.
This was not the first time that Huff ended up in handcuffs.
She was charged with disorderly conduct in September 2012 following a domestic dispute with the same boyfriend, Norris said.
Huff is scheduled to face a disciplinary hearing this week before the Police Board of Inquiry in Philadelphia because of that prior incident, a law-enforcement source told the Daily News.
Huff, who joined the force in 1999, is currently assigned to the Differential Police Response Unit, a police spokeswoman said.
She was previously assigned to Highway Patrol, where she was ex-cop Richard DeCoatsworth's partner.
DeCoatsworth, who retired from the force in 2011, has been behind bars for 10 months. He's currently mulling whether to withdraw a guilty plea that he previously entered in Common Pleas Court on assault, drug and promoting prostitution charges.
