An 8-year-old boy was recovering in the hospital after being accidentally shot inside a Chester home Thursday afternoon, the city's police commissioner said.
About 5:15 p.m. in the 500 block of Norris Street, the boy was shot in the left buttock, said Chester Police Commissioner Joseph Bail Jr. Police found the boy in a second-floor bedroom. He was being treated at Crozer-Chester Medical Center.
A 18-year-old family member was arrested and charged with recklessly endangering another person and receiving stolen property, Bail said. Police recovered a 9mm Ruger pistol at the house. - Robert Moran
