AS PART of its effort to improve tax collections, Mayor Nutter's administration yesterday unveiled a program for tax-delinquent homeowners to get back in good standing through monthly payment plans.

The Owner-Occupied Real Estate Payment Agreement will allow people who own the homes they live in to make monthly installments, rather than a lump-sum payment, to catch up on their bills. The city will calculate the payments based on household income and family size, according to a release.

"We understand that there are times when a person needs a fresh start to get their financial obligations in order," Revenue Commissioner Clarena Tolson said in a statement. "This program gives them that help and more importantly, it helps them to remain in their homes."
