Off-duty Philly cop involved in crash

A DRIVER was in critical condition yesterday after a two-car collision involving an off-duty Philadelphia police officer Friday night in Holmesburg.

A DRIVER was in critical condition yesterday after a two-car collision involving an off-duty Philadelphia police officer Friday night in Holmesburg.

The crash occurred at 11:40 p.m. at State Road and Ashburner Street. Police said traffic lights were flashing when a southbound vehicle driven by the cop on State Road collided with an eastbound vehicle on Ashburner.

Police said the off-duty officer's traffic signal was flashing yellow, while the other driver had a red flashing signal.

The driver of the eastbound vehicle was taken to Aria Health's Torresdale hospital in critical condition. The off-duty officer was treated for minor injuries.
