1 Nix building primed for fixes

The facade of the Nix Federal Building and U.S. Courthouse could get some sprucing up if a $3.4 million request included in President Obama's 2014 budget stays. The statues and windows are cracking and debris could start falling to the sidewalk.

2 Tell City Council your budget concerns

City Council will be in the Northeast on Monday to give community members a chance to express budget concerns. The hearing is 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. at Lincoln High School.

3 Sit in JFK's limo at Philadelphia Univ.

A life-size replica of the limo carrying President Kennedy when he was killed will be the centerpiece of a new exhibit at Philadelphia University examining the single bullet theory.

4 Joe Frazier's heading south

An 8-foot statue of legendary Philly boxer Joe Frazier will be unveiled next year in front of Xfinity Live. Only downside: It won't be accompanied by a statue of a flattened Muhammad Ali.

5 Huge Drexel project inches closer

The City Planning Commission approved Lancaster Square, the Drexel University dorm at 34th and Lancaster, last week. The project still needs a green light from the Zoning Board of Adjustments.

6 Strawberry Mansion gives thanks

Strawberry Mansion residents are celebrating at a "Day of Thanks" today for saving Strawberry Mansion High School from being closed this year. There will be food, music and activities at the school, at 31st and Ridge Avenue.
