Double stabbing leaves a 6-year-old Camden boy dead

A 6-year-old Camden boy was stabbed to death early Sunday and his 12-year-old sister was seriously injured during an attack in their home, neighbors and police said.

Dominick Andujor died in the house in the 900 block of Ware Street, authorities said.

His sister, Amber, had run bleeding to a neighbor's house before being taken to Cooper University Hospital, neighbors said.

Camden County Prosecutor Warren Faulk and Camden Police Chief Scott Thomson issued a joint statement announcing the 2 a.m. double stabbing. They said the girl was in critical condition.

The girl identified the assailant, authorities said, but they were withholding his name until charges are filed.

Faulk and Thomson said it appears the two children were stabbed while together in an upstairs bedroom of the home. A 14-year-old and a 9-year-old, both girls, were also in the home at the time but were not injured, according to the statement.

Neighbors said that the 14-year-old, Tiara, was watching Dominick, Amber and their 9-year-old sister, Amy, because their mother, Debbie, was in Cooper after having surgery Saturday.

"He had fun all summer," Cynthia Pulliam, director of the Roosevelt Manor Community Center, said referring to Dominick. "He liked to play; he liked to have fun; he liked football."

Dominick, Amber, Amy and a cousin spent their summer weekdays at the center, eating breakfast and lunch and doing arts and crafts, Pulliam said. They went on field trips to the Mann Center for the Performing Arts, the Franklin Institute, the Adventure Aquarium, Clementon Park and the Funplex.

"He was so much full of joy," she said.
