Powerball jackpot tops $200 million

Powerball's finally into territory where jackpots soar.

A couple more rollovers could put the game across the $300 million mark, seen by Powerball only once in nearly five years.

The jackpot, building since late June, rose to $212 million on Saturday night, when no one hit all the numbers drawn - 19, 30, 48, 53 and 55, with a Powerball of 18.

It's the year's third biggest jackpot, trailing the $336.4 million won in Rhode Island in February, and the $241 million snagged in Iowa in June.

Four tickets - sold in New York, North Carolina, Michigan and Missouri - won $1 million, for matching the first five numbers Saturday. No one won $2 million, the windfall for matching those five while having the Power Play prize-boosting option.

In cash, Wednesday's jackpot will be worth an estimated $142.9 million.

Don't expect much competition from Mega Millions, the other major multistate lottery.

Tuesday's jackpot will be worth just $21 million for the annuity, $16 million for the cash, because no one matched Friday's numbers: 2, 10, 13, 38 and 46, with a Mega Ball of 2.

A Nebraska ticket won $1 million for matching the first five numbers while having the Megaplier multiplier option. Two Maryland tickets won $250,000 each for matching those five without the Megaplier.

Bensalem ticket wins $503,000. Thursday's Cash 5 jackpot was hit in Bucks County, when one ticket matched all five numbers: 8, 12, 34, 36 and 42. It was sold at a Sunoco A Plus Mini Mart on West Street Road in Bensalem.

$3.1 million won near Scranton. Thursday's Match 6 drawing was hit in Dickson City, Lackawanna County, when one ticket matched all six numbers: 13, 22, 23, 29, 33 and 39. The winner was purchased at a Turkey Hill on Main Street.
