Eagles draft party: How to get free tix

The Eagles are throwing a party, and fans can attend for free.

Meet the new cheerleaders! Get free autographs from current and former players! Try football drills on the field at the Linc, weather permitting!

Sounds like cause for jubilation.

Well ... that depends.

It's the club's annual NFL Draft Party - set for 6:30 p.m., Thursday, April 26 - and, sometimes, fans react poorly to Eagles' picks.

Just ask Donovan McNabb, who's been calling himself the most unfairly criticized quarterback in NFL history.

What's that? In Philadelphia alone, Ron Jaworski heard worse booing and Randall Cunningham heard worse talk-radio insults?

Whatever. Fans did boo McNabb at a draft party in New York.

What? They weren't booing him, they were booing the front office for not taking a runnning back?

Anyway, proves fans can get apoplectic over a draft.

So, if the Eagles fill some urgent needs - safety, linebacker, a replacement for injured offensive tackle Jason Peters - fans will celebrate.

But if the top pick goes to a new long snapper, alert security - and count up the curses for a possible new Guinness record.

Those who'd like to go can get free tickets at www.PhiladelphiaEagles.com starting at 11 a.m. on Thursday. Not available today. (See: http://bit.ly/HPRFns.)

A limited number of tickets will be available, so it's possible they won't last long.

To get free autographs, be among the first 1,300 to show up and get an autograph ticket.

Eagles Cheerleaders Final Audition Show. On April 24, 60 young women, including 30 members of last season's squad, will compete at the Kimmel Center for about three dozen spots on the 2012 cheerleading roster. Tickets, $24, are available through: http://bit.ly/HgXKe3.
