A man walking around a Kensington rooftop with a BB gun that appeared to be a rifle was arrested after a barricade situation Monday afternoon, police said.

The man was taken into custody without incident and no injuries were reported, police said.

About 3:50 p.m., an officer reported seeing the man with what appeared to be a rifle equipped with a scope on a rowhouse roof in the 3200 block of Frankford Avenue, police said. A second man was reported to be with the armed man.

Witnesses told police the first man earlier pointed the weapon out of a third-floor window.

Some people inside the COMHAR mental and behavioral-health facility across the street were evacuated, police said.

Traffic and SEPTA buses was diverted from the area, police said.

Around 6:30 p.m., a SWAT unit entered the building and took the man into custody.

The second man, possibly a maintenance worker, was being questioned by detectives.
