FEMA opening second disaster recovery center in Philadelphia

The Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) and the Pennsylvania Emergency Management Agency are opening a second Disaster Recovery Center in Philadelphia Monday.

The Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) and the Pennsylvania Emergency Management Agency are opening a second Disaster Recovery Center in Philadelphia Monday.

The Center, at the Belfield Recreation Center, 2109 W. Chew Ave. in the Fern Rock section, is set up to help residents and business owners with their recovery from recent storms and flooding.

Officials urge that before going to the center, those seeking aid register for assistance should visit www.disasterassistance.gov or call 1-800-621-FEMA (3362) and those who have a speech disability or hearing loss and use TTY to call 1-800-462-7585. The other Disaster Recovery Center is at 115 S. 15th St. in Center City.    - Vernon Clark
