HAMILTON, N.J. - A Trenton man has been charged with murdering his wife, whose decomposing body was found last month in a remote, wooded area of a cemetery.

Clarence Kelsey, 66, also faces weapons charges in the death of his wife, Colleen, 49. He was held last night on $1 million bail, authorities said.

Kelsey had reported his wife missing July 17, telling police that he had not seen her for nearly a month and thought she was in a drug-rehabilitation program. Several days later, authorities searched the couple's apartment. Mercer County prosecutors said they believe Kelsey fatally stabbed his wife with a knife June 20 after a physical altercation.

They allege that he then left her body in the apartment for at least two days before driving her body to the cemetery in nearby Hamilton Township, where it was found June 28. Authorities did not know if Kelsey had retained a lawyer. - AP
