A dozen passengers were injured this morning when a SEPTA bus was rear-ended by an SUV in the city's West Oak Lane section, officials said.

A Route 22 bus headed westbound on Cheltenham Avenue was struck about 5:15 a.m. near the intersection of Broad Street. The bus was headed to the Olney Transportation Center after making stops in Warminster and Willow Grove, a SEPTA spokesman said.

The condition of the driver of the SUV was not immediately known.

The injured passengers and the bus driver were taken to Albert Einstein Memorial hospital for evaluation. None of the passengers were seriously injured, the spokesman said.

The uninjured passengers completed their trips on another SEPTA bus.
