WIP will also carry Eagles games

The Eagles will be heard on sports-talk station WIP (610), in addition to flagship WYSP (94.1), starting next season.

The Eagles will be heard on sports-talk station WIP (610), in addition to flagship WYSP (94.1), starting next season.

CBS Radio, which owns both stations, announced the move today. The Eagles and CBS also renewed their broadcast agreement for an unspecified term. A source said that it was for more than five years.

Both stations will carry their own pre- and postgame shows.

The simulcast's potential effects will be three-fold: boosting advertising on WIP; saving WIP the salary of an in-studio host during games, when listenership typically drops off; and further solidifying CBS's hold on sports radio in Philadelphia.

WIP - the Eagles' flagship till 1992 - also carries the Flyers and 76ers, though some games are bumped onto WYSP and a third CBS-owned station, WPHT (1210).

WPHT also is the Phillies' flagship station.

CBS's only sports competitor locally is Greater Media's WPEN (950), which carries certain high-profile NFL and college games.
