$100K reported taken during Fishtown food distribution center robbery

Philadelphia police are investigating an overnight robbery in which two assailants posed as police officers to rob a Fishtown food distribution of about $100,000.

The incident occurred shortly after 2 a.m. at the Kawa Trading Corp. on the 1700 block of North Delaware Avenue. The robbers knocked at the door and identified themselves as police.

Authorities said the owners of the business, a man and a woman, were forced to open a safe at gunpoint.

About $100,000 was reported taken. The assailants then fled from the scene.

Police are reviewing surveillance video from the business.
