Togetherness will get us through: Send in your snow photos!

If there’s anything Philadelphia understands, it is that life is, in fact, not fair. This latest nor’easter that stands to drop about a foot of snow on our heads is but a frigid, awful reminder that that is still the case. In that sense, commiseration is in order.

I…I can't. This isn't happening again. It isn't. I just—I won't accept it. It is not going to snow. Not here, not in Philadelphia. We've come too far since the last one, and everything was just getting back in order. It's just not fair.

But if there's anything Philadelphia understands, it is that life is, in fact, not fair. This latest nor'easter that stands to drop about a foot of snow on our heads is but a frigid, awful reminder that that is still the case. In that sense, commiseration is in order.

Because, really, we're all in for it with this one, from the 'burbs to Jersey and Delaware and everywhere in between. Even the shore is going to get a couple inches, but the snow isn't really the problem. It's the sleet and impending ice that will ruin our collective life this week––or, as John Bolaris calls it, "the backlash":

"As the storm slowly pulls away, it will pull down colder air which, at times, means more snow. Well, the backlash here is now looking quite formidable with light to moderate and even additional heavy accumulations taking place mainly after 7 p.m. Thursday night into and through midnight, especially across the northern and western suburbs. It's possible that sections of the Lehigh Valley, could pick up another 5-10 inches in the backlash."

Now, dear readers, it's self-evident that you want no part of that backlash, no matter how cool sounding its name is. Still, though, as a Philadelphian—nay, as a human being—I must ask you to go forth and document. Ain't no nor'easter gonna hold us down.

We need it all. The sleet. The snow. The dreaded ice. Ugly, pretty, shocking––doesn't matter. Whether you're getting it relatively easy down the shore or getting hammered up here in the mainland, it is vital that you get us those snow photos.

Send them in to photosinphilly@gmail.com, and we'll post up our favorites. The result, I assure you, will be a reminder that we are all in this terrible, disgusting mess together.

It might not make you feel better, but it will prove that this pretty objectively is the worst.
