Knit Wit's 'lost our lease' sale is everything

Been eyeballing a black Alexander Wang hoodie? Always on the search for an Autumn Cashmere crew neck? What about those wax-coated J.Brand jeans you've been dying for?

Where is my credit card?

New York's healthy fast food salad chain Just Salad will open at the address sometime this spring.

Gitter said her landlord told her last year he wanted to double the rent on the 2,200-square-foot space where she's been for the last five years. It was like deja vu all over again.  In 2012, a rent hike at 18th and Walnut -- Knit Wit's home for 10 years -- forced them to move.

The closing of the Chestnut Street store doesn't mean that Knit Wit  -- in Philadelphia for more than 50 years -- is leaving Center City, although, Gitter says, she is looking beyond the Rittenhouse Square area to east of Broad and possibly University City.

But, for now, everything must go. That means some early 2017 spring merchandise will be on sale, too.

I'm going this afternoon to look for a Norma Kamali jumpsuit.

Read more about Gitter's plans in my Wednesday "Mirror, Mirror" column.
