Game 2 starting lineups

Charlie Manuel has picked Greg Dobbs to be the designated hitter tonight.

Here are the lineups for Game 2 of the World Series tonight at Tropicana Field:

Phillies

  1. Jimmy Rollins, SS

  2. Jayson Werth, RF

  3. Chase Utley, 2B

  4. Ryan Howard, 1B

  5. Pat Burrell, LF

  6. Shane Victorino, CF

  7. Greg Dobbs, DH

  8. Pedro Feliz, 3B

  9. Carlos Ruiz, C

Righthander Brett Myers will pitch for the Phillies.

Rays

  1. Akinori Iwamura, 2B

  2. B.J. Upton, CF

  3. Carlos Pena, 1B

  4. Evan Longoria, 3B

  5. Carl Crawford, LF

  6. Cliff Floyd, DH

  7. Dioner Navarro, C

  8. Rocco Baldelli, RF

  9. Jason Bartlett, SS

Righthander James Shields will pitch for the Rays.

"I thought about playing Dobbs at third base and DH-ing Matt (Stairs)," Charlie Manuel said. "Matt is 3 for 11 off this guy this year and has hit a home run. He's 3 for 20 in his career. But then I thought about the field. I thought about  my defense. I thought about the fact that Feliz did play last night. I know Dobbs hasn't played on turf for more than two years. I wanted Feliz playing third base."

Howard went 0 for 4 with three strikeouts in Game 1. Manuel is hearing the Rays might start pitching around Utley to face Howard.

Be my guest, Manuel said.

"Pitch around him then," he said. "Howard didn't get those 148 RBIs for nothing. I don't think anybody gave him any of those. And those 48 home runs he hit? If you go back and look, some of those were with guys on base and some of those won games and some of them went a long (bleeping) ways. Some of them would ring some cowbells, too. He's capable of hitting one every time he walks up there. Sooner or later somebody is going to pay the price. Maybe it'll be tonight."
