$1 million Powerball ticket sold in Montco

The Philadelphia area wasn't so lucky this time around with Powerball.

In April, "The SEPTA 48" snagged a $172.7 million jackpot and elected to collect the cash -- $107.2 miillion.

Last night's record Powerball jackpot of $579.9 million was won by two tickets, sold in Missouri and Arizona, that matched all the numbers drawn: 5, 16, 22, 23, 29 and Powerball of 6.

One potentially happy player, though, bought a ticket worth $1 million at a Lancaster Avenue Sunoco in Wynnewood, Montgomery County.

The two other Pennsylvania ticket to match the first five numbers were sold at Planet Mart on Pike Road in Butler County, and at Swaraj Service Station in Altoona, Blair County.

New Jersey had eight such winners but the only ones bought south of Trenton were at the Shore.

Ironically, one was purchased at an Atlantic City casino, Bally's Park Place. Another was sold at Fleet Petroleum, in Lakewood, Ocean County.

The rest of the locations were in two northeastern counties: Hess Express in Fort Lee and a 7-Eleven in Englewood, both in Bergen County, and four Hudson County locations -- Sunset Deli & Liquor in Kearny, the Corner Store in Bayonne, Danforth Deli in Jersey City, and Kary Candy & Wash in Union City.

Thirty-three Pennsylvania tickets matched four numbers plus the Powerball, 28 of them winning $10,000, the other five snagging $40,000 for also having the Power Play prize-boosting option.

New Jersey also had two $40,000 winners and 29 $10,000 winners.
