reader's tip enabled authorities yesterday to nab a fugitive pictured in Monday's "Week's Most Wanted" feature.

The alert reader called in the tip to the FBI, leading authorities to Jose "Smurf" Rivera, said FBI spokesman Special Agent J.J. Klaver.

Rivera, 37, was wanted for attempted murder and aggravated assault for allegedly shooting a man with a handgun after an argument on Enfield Avenue near Ditman Street in Holmesburg.

FBI agents and officers from the Philadelphia Police Major Crimes Unit arrested Rivera at 7 a.m. in a house on Everett Street near Devereaux Avenue in Oxford Circle, Klaver said.

Rivera was taken to the Northeast Detective Division.
