The triple-zeroes paid $2,045,125 to 8,374 winners. On Friday, by comparison, the night number of 978 was played on just 2,370 tickets statewide and generated $166,770 in prizes.

Back on June 6, 1991, and before the lottery was diluted with numerous other games, triple-sevens were drawn and paid out $38.9 million – one reason there are so many other options nowadays.

Saturday's number wasn't the only quirky draw for the night number last week. On Wednesday, the number was 012 – a boxed version of the date. More than 7,300 players cashed in for more than $500,000.

The Pennsylvania Daily Number is drawn twice a day and pays 500-1. Here's a look at how often triple digits have come out since 2000:
