Pair arrested for rape, kidnapping; cops still looking for 2 others

Police have arrested two of the four men suspected of robbing and raping a South Philadelphia woman Wednesday after kidnapping her younger brother and forcing their way into her home.

Police have arrested two of the four men suspected of robbing and raping a South Philadelphia woman Wednesday after kidnapping her younger brother and forcing their way into her home.

Troy Anthony Bolling and Marcus Bellinger, both 19, of 57th Street near Wyalusing Avenue in South Philadelphia, were arrested Wednesday night, hours after their alleged involvement in a home-invasion robbery and rape on Norwood Street near McKean at 5 a.m., police said.

Their two alleged accomplices remained at large last night.

"We're looking at different forensic evidence and hope to make an arrest," said Lt. Michael Boyle, of the Special Victims Unit.

The ordeal started two hours earlier in West Philly, at 42nd Street and Girard Avenue, when Bolling, Bellinger and one other man broke into a home the rape victim's brother was visiting, Boyle said. The intruders - at least two of them armed - stole an undisclosed amount of cash from a woman inside and demanded money from the brother, who said he didn't have any, but suggested that his 29-year-old sister might, Boyle said.

The alleged attackers then put the brother, 24, into a red, four-door sedan and had him lead them to his sister's house, police said. On the way, the brother phoned his sister twice and asked if she had any money. She said, "No."

The alleged kidnappers continued driving to the rape victim's house. The brother knocked on the door and when his sister opened it, police said the kidnappers forced their way inside.

First, they demanded money. When the sister said she didn't have any, the intruders roughed her up, police said. Afterward, she turned over her ATM card and PIN. Two intruders took the victim's brother and made numerous trips to several ATMs, where they withdrew cash, Boyle said. The third man stayed behind, where he allegedly raped the sister. Police said after one of the ATM trips, the men who had gone to the bank returned to the rape victim's house with a fourth man.

During the more than two-hour nightmare, police said the four men stole about $600 from the victim's bank account and raped her repeatedly while her daughter and niece slept upstairs.

After they fled, the woman was treated and released from a local hospital. Neither her brother nor the children in the house were harmed.

The two men being sought were described as black males in their early 20s, about 5 feet 6. One has a thin build, dark complexion and cornrowed hair. The other suspect was described as having a medium build and a light complexion.

Bolling and Bellinger were arrested at 47th and Spruce streets after a tip call to police. The men have been charged with robbery, rape, kidnapping, false imprisonment, weapons and related offenses.
