Rendell files appeal over TCE pollutant

The state Department of Environmental Protection on Thursday filed a petition for review with the U.S. Court of Appeals for the District of Columbia Circuit, challenging the federal Environmental Protection Agency's new standards on TCE. The agency's new rule exempted two Collegeville companies from reducing their emissions.

Gov. Rendell, in announcing the petition, said the exemption "fails to protect the well-being of our people, our communities and our economy."
