The eateries listed below were asked to close temporarily following inspections by the Philadelphia Department of Health between June 16 and June 24.

Each inspection report is generally regarded as a "snapshot in time" and is not necessarily a reflection of day-to-day conditions at the business. Most violations were immediately corrected on site. Unless noted, the restaurants and markets were allowed to reopen the next day after health department approval.

If you suspect you've contracted food poisoning at a Philadelphia eatery or have a sanitation complaint, contact the health department at 215-685-7495.

Included with each listing below is an edited selection of infractions gleaned from city documents. (Serious violations are a subset of total violations.) Visit www.philly.com/cleanplates for a searchable database of inspections.
