This weekend: 6th Annual Historic Riverton Criterium

Back for its sixth year, the Historic Riverton Criterium is a growing amateur racing event that is not to be missed.

The competitive short-course bike races kick off on Sunday, June 12 at 1 p.m. with the main event, a 35-mile race for top USA Cycling-ranked competitors.

The challenging and technically demanding course on the quaint streets of Riverton, N.J. is flat and fast and consists of six turns along the .8-mile loop.

The daylong event will also feature a masters race for experienced riders over 45, plus the women's category is back for a second year. Children 8 to 10 will also have a chance to race, and the firefighters fun race is sure to entertain.

Creator and organizer Carlos Rogers said spectators can also look forward to food trucks—Whirly Pig and Matt's Sliders— and free samples from KIND Snacks and Bai antioxidant drinks.

Proceeds from the event will benefit the Historical Society of Riverton. USAC licensed riders can register here.
