Georges Perrier wants his name back
And so Le Bec Fin's bar has a new name.
Georges Perrier just got his name bec. Er, back.
The French chef was honored last year when Le Bec Fin reopened under new owner Nicolas Fanucci.
The subterranean bar, known as Le Bar Lyonnais during Perrier's regime, renamed Chez Georges.
But Fanucci told me that he heard recently from Perrier's camp, which asked him to change the name for corporate reasons.
Too close to Perrier's current business interest, Fanucci said.
So now it's Le Bar @ Le Bec Fin.
Le Bec Fin, meanwhile, has shifted its lunch days to Tuesday to Saturday. It's now closed Monday for lunch.
