Chinamoto opening Thursday on South Broad

Tashan getting company at 777 S. Broad St.

Tashan will finally get company at 777 S. Broad St. on April 25.

Chinamoto, an upbeat, moderately priced Asian fusion restaurant that's been in the works for a year, is the first Philly project for Kelvin Lee Sin, best known for Buddha by Kenji Fusion in Kansas City, Mo. (Say it "cheen-amoto.")

Sushi bar dominates the main dining room, and two tatami tables occupy the Broad Street windows. I have not seen the menu yet, but it's supposed to be eclectic, with Japanese, Chinese and Thai-inspired dishes and a lively bar dispensing cocktails (scorpion bowls for two), beer and wine

It will be open seven days a week for both lunch and dinner.
