Artful Dodger appears closed

Phone is disconnected, and there's that uncomfortable lights-out look on a Friday night at The Artful Dodger, the long-running pub across from the Head House Shambles on Second Street in Society Hill.

The bar was dark for three weeks in fall 2010 when it went through an ownership change. That's when longtime bartender Joe McBride and his wife, Christine, bought it with the help of investors.
