Fox's 'MasterChef' to hold open casting call in Philadelphia

Philly's best amateur home cooks may want to start sharpening their kitchen knives and organizing their recipe books now, because Fox's MasterChef is coming to town next month to find contestants for the its coming season.

The crew will be in town Oct. 21 for an open casting call running from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. The location has not yet been announced.

Those auditioning, however, must bring one prepared dish for judges to try. There will be no kitchen on the premises, so all food must be prepared and plated before arriving at the casting call. Utensils and dishes will not be provided, so remember to arrive prepared.

Oh, and only amateur home cooks need apply. Pros, you've had your chance.

Those interested  can preregister online or  fill out an application ahead of the casting call. Preregistration is not necessary to audition.

MasterChef debuted on Fox in 2010, and will air its ninth season in summer 2018. Its most recent season concluded this month, with 28-year-old California cook Dino Angelo Luciano winning the competition. Philly's Courtney Lapresi won the competition in 2014.
