Ellen Gray's Halloween weekend picks: 'Ash vs Evil Dead,' 'The Returned' and more

* ASH VS EVIL DEAD. 9 p.m. Saturday, Starz. Bruce Campbell reprises his role as a monster hunter in the Halloween premiere of a new series that's also the latest installment of the "Evil Dead" movie franchise. Not really my thing, but Campbell's a lot of fun. Can't wait to see him, without the chainsaw, as presidential candidate Ronald Reagan in FX's "Fargo."

Rev up that chain saw once again, Ash: Bruce Campbell and Dana DeLorenzo in the Starz series "Ash vs. Evil Dead," which revisits the cult 1980s trilogy.

* THE RETURNED. 10 p.m.

Saturday, SundanceTV.

The second season of the haunting French zombie drama picks up six months after the events of the first season's finale, in which some of the returning dead disappeared into the mountains. Are they ever coming back? Will more dead return? And why is part of the town still under water?

* GHOST ADVENTURES. 9 p.m. Saturday, Travel Channel.

The ghost hunters travel to supposedly haunted - or at least ominously named - Deadwood, S.D., for a two-hour Halloween special.

* BILL NYE'S GLOBAL MELTDOWN. 8 p.m. Sunday, National Geographic.

Arnold Schwarzenegger plays Bill Nye's therapist as the Governator and the Science Guy try to work through the five stages of "climate change grief." I couldn't make this up if I tried.

PROJECT GREENLIGHT. 10 p.m. Sunday, HBO.

Season finale of the revived filmmaking "reality" show. If you want to see the finished project, Jason Mann's film, "The Leisure Class," premieres at 10 p.m. Monday on HBO.
