* DEATH COMES TO PEMBERLEY. 9 p.m. Sunday and Nov. 2, WHYY12.

Matthew Rhys ("The Americans") and Anna Maxwell Martin ("The Bletchley Circle") star in a two-night adaptation of the P.D. James novel, in which characters from Jane Austen's "Pride and Prejudice" become embroiled in a murder mystery. I love Austen and James, but wasn't crazy about the collision. The miniseries is watchable, though, and views of "Pemberley" - actually Chatsworth House - could hold "Downton Abbey" fans over till the show returns to PBS Jan. 4.

* DAY OF EXPEDITION MARATHON. Noon Sunday, NatGeo.

A day of adventure programming that takes viewers from Niagara Falls to K2 culminates in the 8 p.m. premiere of the two-hour "Mammoth Unearthed," in which a paleontologist and an archaelogist race to work on mammoths as they're found in Siberia's melting permafrost.

* LYFE's JOURNEY. 7 p.m. Sunday, Up.

Keith Robinson ("Dreamgirls") and Richard T. Jones ("Judging Amy") star in a made-for-Up (short for "uplifting") movie about an executive who falls on hard times. Deals with redemption without being too preachy.

* TREEHOUSE OF HORROR MARATHON. Noon Sunday, FXX.

If you haven't found the FX network's spinoff channel already, maybe 12 hours of "The Simpsons" "Treehouse of Horror" episodes, 24 in all, will inspire you to look? (Hint: On Comcast, it's 725, on Verizon FIOS, 191.)
