Show Me a Hero. Paul Haggis, William F. Zorzi, and David Simon's six-part drama about a 1980s desegregation and housing battle in Yonkers, N.Y., not only features Winona Ryder, Bob Balaban, and Catherine Keener in supporting roles alongside the great Oscar Isaac; it's also full of well-chosen Bruce Springsteen songs, starting with the rescued-from-obscurity "Gave It a Name," which played as a full-length scene-setter in the debut episode. Bootsy Collins. This great bass player provided the bottom for many of James Brown's funkiest recordings before tearing the roof off the sucka with George Clinton. What's Bootsy doin'? Playing on a double bill with Larry Graham on Thursday at 7 p.m. at the Dell Music Center.
