Ladies, start your engines.

The author of the steamy S&M bestseller Fifty Shades of Grey, E.L. James, announced on her Twitter account on Monday that the film adaptation of her book has found its stars.

Charlie Hunnam, who plays Jax, the sensitive motorcycle gang leader on FX's Sons of Anarchy, has been cast as the sexually adventurous Christian Grey.

Dakota Johnson, half of Fox's short-lived sitcom Ben and Kate, will play Anastasia Steele, Grey's submissive lover. Johnson is the daughter of actors Don Johnson and Melanie Griffith.

The selection of Hunnam ends months of speculation about who would land this juicy role. Among the names rumored to be under consideration were Ian Somerhalder, Chace Crawford, Matt Bomer, and model Devin Paisley.

The movie is scheduled to be released Aug. 1, 2014.

Weekend update for Seth Meyers

Martha's Vineyard, the island off Cape Cod, was even more celeb-bedecked than usual over Labor Day weekend.

That's because Seth Meyers, the head writer and fake news anchor for Saturday Night Live, got married to his longtime girlfriend Alexi Ashe on Sunday.

There were about 150 guests at the ceremony. Among them: Olivia Munn, Allison Williams, Cherry Hill native Ali Larter, Rashida Jones, and Jack McBrayer. There was of course a contingent of current and former SNL troupers including Amy Poehler, Will Forte, Andy Samberg, Kristen Wiig, Fred Armisen, Taran Killam, Jason Sudeikis, and Kenan Thompson.

Ashe, a lawyer, works for the Brooklyn District Attorney's office, specializing in sex-trafficking cases. Meyers has been tapped to replace Jimmy Fallon as the host of NBC's The Late Show in 2014.

How's this for romantic? The couple met at a wedding.

Boy band rules box office

Big weekend at the movies. In fact, the $124 million in ticket sales for Friday, Saturday, and Sunday eclipsed the record for the three-day Labor Day holiday set in 2007.

Leading the pack was One Direction: This Is Us, which early estimates placed at $17 million, a hefty take for the British boy band.

The Butler, with Forest Whitaker and Oprah Winfrey, continued its steady service, earning $14.7 million. A surprisingly durable We're The Millers landed in third place with $12.6 million.
