Northeast Philly native Jessica Barth says Harvey Weinstein sexually harassed her

Actress and Northeast Philadelphia native Jessica Barth has revealed more details about an alleged encounter with embattled producer and accused rapist Harvey Weinstein. She says the incident left her humiliated.

Barth grew up in Frankford and attended Northeast High School. She is best-known for playing Tami-Lyn in Seth McFarlane's Ted and Ted 2. She discussed her ordeal on CNN on Thursday, saying Weinstein asked her to join him in his hotel room after the Golden Globes in 2011  to discuss potential career prospects. She initially divulged her story in a recent piece in the New Yorker focusing on allegations against Weinstein.

Barth said on CNN that Weinstein, dressed in an unbuttoned shirt and loose pants, quickly turned the meeting sexual.

"First, he started talking about career stuff, and how he wanted to fly me to New York and give me a role in Sarah Jessica Parker's new film," Barth said on CNN's New Day. "He alternated between that and asking me to give him a naked massage in the bed."

Barth also claims that Weinstein continually made disparaging comments in addition to making unwanted advances. She claims Weinstein told her she needed to lose weight to compete with major Hollywood stars like Mila Kunis.

"I pretty much had it at that point," Barth said, adding that she hid tears during the meeting. "I was never going to trade sexual favors to advance my career."

Afterward, Barth told Family Guy creator MacFarlane about what happened. That led to MacFarlane's jab at Weinstein  while hosting the 2013 Academy Awards.  MacFarlane used the announcement of that year's best supporting actress nominees to get his dig in.

"Congratulations, you five ladies no longer have to pretend to be attracted to Harvey Weinstein," MacFarlane said. He has since issued a statement condemning Weinstein's alleged misconduct, writing that the joke "came from a place of loathing and anger."

"I didn't know any of the rumors at that point about him," Barth said Thursday. "I called my mother, and my mother was excited for me, and I walked out humiliated. I understand how it is being young and raising your voice, but come forward because your voice is important and you will be believed."

Barth is one of several actresses who have accused Weinstein of sexual harassment, including Angelina Jolie, Gwyneth Paltrow, and Rose McGowan, who alleges that  Weinstein raped her. McGowan also mentioned in a New York Times story that she reached a $100,000 settlement with Weinstein over a 1997 incident that allegedly occurred in a hotel room during the Sundance Film Festival that year.

Weinstein is also accused of raping three other women, according to the New Yorker article. He has denied any accusations of nonconsensual sexual behavior against him, with lawyers saying via a statement that the producer "is hoping that, if he makes enough progress, he will be given a second chance."
