Ringo cancels N.C. show

Ringo Starr has joined Bruce Springsteen in canceling a concert in North Carolina to protest a new state law that requires transgender individuals to use the bathroom of the gender on their birth certificates. The law also bans cities from punishing businesses that discriminate against customers based on sexual orientation or gender identity. Cyndi Lauper, Gregg Allman, Brandi Carlile, and Jimmy Buffett have spoken out against the law but will not cancel.

Get thee to a nunnery

A judge Wednesday blocked a deal by a pair of nuns to sell an L.A. convent to a restaurateur, opening the way for Katy Perry to snap it up, the Los Angeles Times says. The L.A. Archdiocese supported Perry's suit because it had made a deal to sell the property to her for $14.5 mil. The nuns plan to appeal.

A new summer tradition?

Sir Paul McCartney will bring his One on One tour to Citizens Bank Park on July 12. He'll perform a mix of classics that span his entire career from a "dazzling redesigned set."

Macca will also do Hershey Stadium on July 19 and the MetLife Stadium in East Rutherford, N.J., on Aug. 7.

Sir Paul had a sold-out show at the Wells Fargo Center in June, and he played at a string of festivals last year, including the Firefly Music Festival in Delaware.

Tickets go on sale at 10 a.m. April 22 via Ticketmaster.com.
